As Asia embraces a resurgence in T-pop, Last Idol proves that Web3 can reimagine fan engagement; the dynamic all-female vocal group is officially disbanding but not before their final concert together, and NFT collection as a tribute to supporters
The global token and blockchain platform CROWN Token Project, which reimagines traditional IPs in the entertainment industry, announces its new NFT collection on its ADOT platform. It will be rolling out a limited edition LAST GAME NFT collection on November 18, 2023, representing the T-pop girl group Last Idol as a final gift to their fans.
Girl groups go back to the birth of pop, and every decade, they’ve harmonized their way to mainstream success. As we embrace the undeniable resurgence in the 00s and 90s and idol culture, we’re seeing genres like T-pop increase in popularity. Thai entertainment companies like CROWN affiliate T&B Media Global, Search Entertainment, M Pictures Entertainment, and Draconic are also stepping up to the plate in support of these pop culture sensations.
The Last Idol’s final single, LAST GAME, is a tribute to everyone who showed them unwavering support and urges fans to stand strong and take the road seldom traveled. The free-to-mint collection will include thirty NFTs depicting the group with six editions and will include a musical composition. The collection will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The group formed through the reality show Last Idol, produced by Japanese television writer, lyricist, record producer, and professor Akimoto Yasushi. Last Idol Thailand debuted its first single album, Bandwagon, on December 10, 2021. Also recognized as the sister group of the original Last Idol from Japan, the group will disband, with many members being transferred to the Rabbit Moon Corporation Limited label. Before disbanding, fans in Thailand will see them perform together for the last time at Major Cineplex Ratchayothin on November 19, 2023.
“This is an exciting time to take the handbrake off the intersection between music, Web3, and community engagement,” said Pan Lorattawut, CEO of VUCA Digital which manages the CROWN Token and ADOT marketplace and is an affiliated company of T&B Media Global. “I’m always so proud to work with T&B Media Global, which consistently does its due diligence to use NFTs and Web3 to showcase the pool of artistic talent in the region and create a personalized connection and tribute to their fans.”
