The popular online coding school Codecademy has been the “go-to” website if you want to learn how to code, from learning how to develop a website to learning how to make an Amazon Alexa skill, there are topics for anyone. The online school offers both a free version of a course, a monthly based subscription that unlocks more projects for courses, and a one-time payment program that teaches a live-lesson based course for certain topics. While most often go to Codecademy for lessons on how to program, some decide to go with either a textbook-style type of learning or pay for an online course from a company like Udemy, while Udemy is a good option to go with, Codecademy might help you more. Here’s why you should go to Codecademy if you want to learn how to code.
Lessons for Everyone
Codecademy has courses in different subjects and programming languages that can help anyone get started in programming. Codecademy has also begun to develop partnership courses with different companies to teach people how to use or develop software for their products, for example, Amazon and Codecademy made a course to teach people to develop Skills (or apps) for Amazon’s assistant, Alexa. Codecademy also tries its best to keep their courses up-to-date and try to develop courses that are in high demand at the moment, like one of my most favorite JavaScript libraries and most interesting React.js. If you go to this website, there’s going to be something for you.
No Set-up Process
Codecademy is a website and website only, meaning nothing to download. When learning a coding language by yourself you need to download something called an “IDE” or “Integrated Development Environment,” this software gives you the ability to write code on your computer. With Codecademy, everything is online, setup, and ready for you to use. You have the ability to see what the website is asking for you to do, write your code, and test it using the integrated browser. This gives you the ability to learn the basics, stressfree.
The Community
One of my favorite parts of Codecademy is the community of students that are willing to help other students with whatever problem they’re having in their course. Codecademy have forums built into their website, separated depending on what course or lesson you’re having problems with. You have no idea how many times I’ve been on there when I was first learning how to code, it may be complicated but thanks to the community of students that give you support and have the will the help you, it can become easy!
If you’re wanting to learn how to code, then I recommend checking out Codecademy!
