Web3 entertainment startup Pentatonic Workshop LLC has just opened the whitelist for the June 2023 sale of their guitar focused Hash Riffers NFT collection.
The Southern California based firm builds products that provide new revenue streams and rewards for hobbyist musicians. The Hash Riffers collection is their inaugural release on the Polygon blockchain. It consists of 10,000 NFTs which capture the iconic styles that have defined guitar culture.
9.6% of the worlds population has attempted to play the guitar. This equates to roughly 712 million people worldwide. Out of that vast number, 75 million people continue to play guitar, and do so at an intermediate to expert level.Âą The Hash Riffers collection has been developed to help onboard this massive community into the world of Web3 by rewarding and compensating them for what they are currently doing for free.
Each Hash Riffer NFT functions as a membership ID, which grants its owner access to the Hash Riffers’ eco system of virtual and real world events. By participating in events, members unlock an array of rewards ranging from vintage and new guitars, amplifiers, pedals, concert tickets, lessons from notable instructors, to prizes paid in their favorite crypto currencies. Additionally, members who are active and engaged with the project will also receive the right to perform live on stage at Hash Riffer regional showcase concerts, that will take place across North America.
During the Pandemic, 16 million new players took up the guitar. This number was equally split between men and women, showing the widespread appeal the instrument still holds in todays music landscape. 67 Percent of those new players classify their playing as a hobby. This holds true for legacy players as well. Most guitar players are not actively looking to become rock stars. Instead, they derive joy from playing and participating in guitar culture from within the context of their current life.² Hash Riffers has been designed to cater to and maximize the experience of those hobby guitarist as well as proficient players.
One of the main events within the Hash Riffer eco system is Riff Fest. A groundbreaking virtual guitar contest where members can unlock perks by simply listening to guitar riffs and voting on them, or by entering their own original riff into the competition for a chance at much larger grand prizes. Each owner of a Hash Riffer NFT is guaranteed the option of minting an “Oracle NFT”, which contains their original guitar riff. Oracles are the contestants of the Riff Fest, while standard Hash Riffers are the voters. Both Hash Riffers and Oracles can earn rewards and win prizes for participating in the event. A total of 10,000 Oracles can be minted. This represents 1 for each corresponding Hash Riffers NFT.
The project has also been designed to accommodate members who are not musicians. Non guitar playing members who wish to compete in the Riff Fest can request to have an original guitar riff provided to them by one of the projects many affiliate guitarists. This will provide full project inclusion for anyone who buys a Hash Riffer NFT. In addition to the Riff Fest, members will take part in raffles, trivia contests, guitar related challenges and games that will allow them to make use of their knowledge of guitar and music culture.
The Hash Riffers collection was created by the pseudonymous Viscount De Melodie, a guitarist, producer and touring artist with over 20 years of music experience. He created the project out of passion for NFTs and an understanding of the role they can play in enhancing the musical life of guitar players and musicians en mass.
The Viscount had this to say regarding the collection. “Our team was determined to develop this project because what we were seeing in the music NFT space was simply missing the mark. Every project seemed to focus on celebrities and enhancing their profile instead of making material improvement in the musical lives of its member community. We strive to fix that”.
The Hash Riffers’ team has a series of collaborations with 3rd party networks which they will announce as part of the projects roadmap. These collaborations will offer members additional cross promotional and royalty opportunities.
De Melodie further added, “Being an owner of a Hash Riffer NFT guarantees its holder a place in an ecosystem with practical and expanding value, and that’s something our entire team takes pride in.”
