Dolce & Gabbana Launch the New "Future Rewind" Competition

Dolce & Gabbana, the iconic Italian fashion brand, Decentraland and UNXD are proud to announce the launch of their first digital fashion competition as part of the Metaverse Fashion Week 2023.

The "Future Rewind Competition" will be the flagship digital wearables competition to create opportunities for visionaries to exchange ideas across diverse mediums. Participants must submit complete digital looks inspired by one or any combination of Dolce & Gabbana prints to enter. Requiring a minimum of five to 20 looks, creative digital designers have their choice from six collections listed here:

Dolce & Gabbana Blue Mediterranean

This collection pays homage to the ancient Majolica art from Caltagirone, Sicily. Shades of deep blue and brilliant white are the leading characteristic of the timeless calligraphic pattern in the collection. The chiffon dresses, jumpsuits, caftans and silk twill pajamas exalt femininity and lightness.

Zebra

The Zebra collection is a celebration for eclectic and strong women. Its inspiration comes from the Dolce & Gabbana iconic brand pattern and boasts bold shapes and volumes. The black-and-white print fuses an irreverent, trendy spin on 80s glamor with rockin' style.

Leopard

The leopard collection invokes the jungle, expressing the fashion brand's pure DNA. Animal print has always been a favorite that appears down runways and in fashion magazines year after year. From hats to faux fur coats, slip-on shoes and slinky slips, it came back in the summer and winter seasons of 2021/22 and is still all the rage.

Quintessential Black Lace

The inspiration behind the aesthetics of black lace pulls from the Sicilian roots of Dolce & Gabbana. It recalls southern Italian folk costumes and brings an alluring connotation of inaccessible sensuality. While feminine celebrities like Isabella Rossellini, Madonna and Linda Evangelista are patrons of the brand, the traditional mid-century Italian definitive embodies icons like Sophia Loren.

The Famous DC Logo

Though simple in its design, this logo is recognizable around the world. As fashion evolves, it has remained iconic since its inception in 1985. It has upheld the intentions of modernity and timelessness and proves that sophisticated simplicity goes above and beyond.

The Dolce & Gabbana Traditional Sicilian Carretto 

As a traditional folk inspiration, this collection boasts the colors, flavors and unique traditions of the southern Mediterranean melting pot of Sicily. Cultures dating back to Ancient Greece, the influence of North African Norman traditions and flamboyant Spanish styles are all contributors to the mythical appeal of the island. From the beginning, these have been points of reference for Dolce & Gabbana with its timeless appeal of colorful patterns.

Anyone who wishes to create the next generation of digital wearables is encouraged to enter. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will personally direct participant memberships and choose the winners, including DGFamily NFT holders. Metaverse Fashion Week, March 28 to 31, will be the event for announcing the winners who will have the opportunity to showcase their designs at the Dolce & Gabbana space in Decentraland. Digital Designers who are interested may apply through March 12. Any design software in any format is acceptable and must be through a portfolio link.
