Since June 3, 2022, the WhiteBIT cryptocurrency exchange has been a partner of the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation. The cooperation allows donating cryptocurrency to support Ukraine from anywhere in the world.
Cosmic speed of fundraising campaigns, immense popular support, and billions for the help of the Ukrainian military. All this and much more characterizes the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation, a project of one of the most popular volunteers in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the foundation has opened military and humanitarian headquarters to assist the military and civilians in the occupied territories. Thanks to the world community’s efforts, the foundation provides the Ukrainian army with communication equipment, optical devices, drones, UAVs, transport, and tactical medicine.
In addition to regular fundraising, the foundation initiates large-scale projects that anyone can join from any part of the world. People can donate via bank transfers and in digital currency.
For more than half a year, the WhiteBIT crypto exchange has provided an opportunity to make transfers in cryptocurrency. The cooperation of the Ukrainian exchange and the foundation united thousands of crypto community members who significantly contributed to the common cause. Between August and December 2022, 1729 transactions were made. As of December 2022, the total amount of assistance in cryptocurrency amounted to more than 21 million hryvnias, with an average donation of 12 724 hryvnias. Donations can be made in the most popular cryptocurrencies — BTC, ETH, and USDT, using the wallet address on the official platform of the Foundation.
Thanks to crypto donations, the WhiteBIT, and the community bought a crystal microphone from Eurovision 2022, making the highest bid. All $900 000 raised was sent to Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation to buy UAVs.
WhiteBIT shares the values of millions of citizens who help Ukraine in word and deed during the war. Therefore, the company participates in many other charitable projects. At the RM Sotheby’s auction, the company’s CEO recently bought a Rolls-Royce that once belonged to Freddie Mercury for 11 million hryvnias. The funds will be used to build a Ukrainian rehabilitation center for victims of the Russian invasion.
In addition, WhiteBIT supports Ukrainian education. The company partnered with the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” with one of the university buildings to be reconstructed as part of the partnership. Given the public interest in cryptocurrency and its effectiveness, WhiteBIT and the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Ukraine are launching a free course on crypto-literacy. The initiative will reinforce public education in blockchain technologies and digital assets.
