ZoidPay, a crypto liquidity platform allowing retailers to pay anything from anywhere using crypto and DeFi innovators to build blockchain financial services on an interoperable base, is joining forces with Fetch.ai to see global FET holders pay for goods and services using the liquid cryptocurrency, driving adoption.
According to a recent press release, the deal will see FET holders pay for goods and services on leading platforms such as eBay and Amazon or access services on Skyscanner and Airbnb, among other portals. Holders would use the coin to access various services on the rapidly growing Fetch.ai and use their holding in place of cash, transacting cheaply and securely.
The partnership with Fetch.ai, an open-source platform that merges artificial intelligence and machine learning with the global distribution and security of the blockchain, has been described as a "natural fit" and "exciting" by Eduard Oneci, the CEO and co-founder of ZoidPay. In his observation, the deal will see FET being used as a mode of payment in over 100 million retailers, further accelerating the global adoption of FET.
"Fetch.ai has been focusing on enabling mass adoption of its FET token. When the team at Fetch.ai approached us recently to discuss potential liquidity solutions, the ZoidPay Chrome Extension was a natural fit. The FET token can now be used as a mode of payment across over 100 million online retailers. I've been following Fetch.ai for a long time and have been really excited about what it's achieved in a very short time span. I look forward to working with the Fetch.ai team and bringing newer and innovative liquidity solutions to their platform."
Bringing FET to the World of Retail
Fetch.ai uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to take web3 solutions to the "next level." As part of their global campaign to reach more users, they are collaborating with like-minded protocols to achieve their shared objective. According to Humayun Sheik, the CEO of Fetch.ai, the ZoidPay partnership is one of the many as Fetch.ai plans to launch customer-facing applications in 2022.
"We are enabling FET token holders the means to use their FET token as a mode of payment wherever they wish to. With our plans to launch many consumer-facing applications this year, this partnership with ZoidPay will help fetch.ai achieve mass adoption for FET tokens, as token holders will be able to pay in FET for a range of services we plan to release this year. We are looking forward to working with the ZoidPay team and bringing forward more utility for FET holders."
The ZoidPay Chrome Extension plugin is currently available for SEPA residents in Europe. However, it will open up to the world in April 2022.
