The growth of tokenized crowdsale may have slowed down over the last year as a result of the bearish cryptocurrency market and strict regulatory control, but one capital raising platform – Paperstreet – could change this in the coming months.
Paperstreet is embarking on a serious attempt to fix the problem with the help of Alchemist, a Blockchain consultancy and advisory firm, and Techstars, a seed accelerator.
Speaking about the initiative, the managing director of the Alchemist Techstar accelerator, Yossi Hasson, said that:
“We’ve seen a radical shift in how companies can potentially be built using blockchain technology…New funding models, business models, and organizational design models are being tested and implemented in an attempt to build a more open Internet and financial system.” “Together, Techstars and Alchemist will work to advance this select group of extremely viable startups in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries.”
Return of Token Sales?
Token sales were very common in 2017, but they gradually faded away in 2019 following the price crash of most cryptocurrencies as well as strict regulatory control. However, with projects as this, ICOs will begin to show signs of life all over again.
Paperstreet is just one of the many startups chosen by Alchemist and Techstars. According to Yossi Hasson, Paperstreet will be assisted to scale a fully compliant token sale platform. In his own words, he noted that:
“Founder and CEO of Alchemist Steven Nerayoff, who helped build the legal architecture behind Ethereum’s token sale, is uniquely positioned to help Paperstreet build on their mission of scaling a fully compliant end-to-end token sale platform that connects retail investors with alternative investment opportunities typically reserved for VCs and institutions.”
The Capital Raising Platform Paperstreet
Paperstreet is designed to allow crypto startups to launch token sales, private placements, and equity offerings. Investors can sign up on the platform and after passing KYC/AML checks, proceed to browse through featured projects and choose those that interest them.
Paperstreet accepts payments in fiat currency and cryptocurrencies, supporting cryptos such as NEO, EOS, Stellar Lumens (XLM), and Bitcoin.
All sales in the capital raising platform are compliant with the security regulations in various jurisdictions, including the U.S., Asia-Pacify region, and Europe. According to Paperstreet, they have adhered to rules set forward by the SEC.
