NASDAQ stock exchange announced in November 2018 they are looking at the possibility to add Bitcoin futures early this year. The company’s latest job opening released on LinkedIn shows the NASDAQ futures are to be released soon. NASDAQ posted an opening for a senior software developer with a deep interest in blockchain and machine learning showing their zeal to bring the bitcoin futures to life.
The Senior Software Engineer Role
The ideal candidate will lead the “Enterprise Architecture and Innovation group” located in Boston, Texas. The sector focuses on providing world class technologies that will solve the capital markets problems and build future solutions in the blockchain space including the upcoming derivatives. Furthermore, EAIG looks to create future financial solutions using machine learning and big data.
The candidate needs to be proficient in designing, modifying and creating solutions for the current and upcoming applications, system architecture and application infrastructure. In addition, the job posting wrote, that the candidate needs the following requirements:
- A strong computer science background in algorithms, compilers and database systems. Deep interest and knowledge in Blockchain and Machine learning.
- Experience in full stack development using NodeJs, ReactJs, and big data stores like MongoDB and Cassandra
Does This Mean Nasdaq/VanEck Bitcoin Futures Will Be Released Soon?
The possibilities of getting the long awaited bitcoin futures before the end of Q1 2019 are coming true. The latest hiring of a blockchain specialist as a senior software engineer, shows that NASDAQ are close to releasing the futures.
News of the release of bitcoin futures by NASDAQ and VanEck became public in November 2018 a month after Nasdaq Financial Framework integrated to Microsoft’s Azure blockchain platform. Securing a top cryptocurrency expert will allow NASDAQ to build blockchain solutions and products on their exchange. The future rings bright for those at the second largest stock market in the world.
