Kroma’s First Airdrop — A Token of Appreciation for Our Community
We are excited to announce Kroma’s first airdrop, a major milestone in our journey. This airdrop celebrates the contributions of our community members who have supported and engaged with Kroma as early adopters. The first airdrop snapshot was taken on September 30th at 23:59:59 UTC, while the KCU contributor snapshot was taken on October 22nd at 09:00 UTC.
A total of 49,150,177.42 KRO tokens, representing around 5% of the total supply, have been allocated across multiple categories of contributors, each with its unique eligibility criteria. Although in the previous announcement regarding the tokenomics update we suggested that the amount of the first airdrop would be around 7% of the total supply, we had to make a careful adjustment based on thorough analysis of the project’s long-term sustainability and token distribution strategy. This decision was made to ensure that the ecosystem remains healthy, well-balanced, and capable of supporting ongoing community growth. There are ten sets of criteria, which are detailed in the following sections.
For mainnet & testnet validator operators, the airdrop will be given directly to the corresponding wallets. For others, eligible users can claim the airdrop at https://kcu.kroma.network/?dialog=airdrop starting October 30th, at 01:00 UTC.
1. Kroma OG
This category recognizes those who have been with Kroma from the first public testnet until the official mainnet launch, holding key SBTs and NFTs that were minted in support of our initial development. The eligible SBTs and NFTs include:
- Luminary SBT
- Orchid SBT
- Jade SBT
- Genesis NFT
- Land War — Trophy NFT (Diamond, Gold, Silver, Bronze)
- Land War — The Conqueror NFT
Reward structure for the holders of Luminary, Orchid, Jade and Genesis NFTs:

2. Kroma Quest Master
This category recognizes those who completed the Kroma Quest campaign from December 2023 to January 2024. Holders of Kroma Quest Master NFT and users who accumulated Galxe points are eligible.
3. WEMIX Community Member
This category recognizes our loyal WEMIX community members. Participants with 25 or more WCP (WEMIX Community Points) will receive KRO tokens proportional to their WCP holdings.
4. Night Crows Player
Users who minted CROW tokens on Kroma are eligible for the KRO airdrop. Eligible participants will receive 100 KRO, regardless of the number of CROW tokens minted or minting transactions.
5. Kroma Guardian
For holders of KGH NFTs, the airdrop amount will be 50% of the esKRO locked within each KGH NFT. Note that the airdrop amount has increased from 25% to 50%! For example, if your KGH NFT holds 2,000 esKRO, you will be able to claim 1,000 KRO for the airdrop. To check the KRO rewards of your KGH NFTs, visit https://kgh.kroma.network/my-page starting October 30th, at 01:00 UTC.
One important note for KGH NFT holders: while the original plan required monthly claims of 10% of the total esKRO over 10 months, you will now be able to claim it in full at the KGH staking service.
6. Spectrum Contributor
If you have 40 or more Kroma Spectrum Points (KSP), you will receive tokens proportional to your contribution.
7. KCU Contributor
This category recognizes the participants who contributed to the Kroma Creative Universe (KCU). If you minted a Kroman NFT and equipped it with Pro Gamer’s Items, you will receive KRO tokens based on your Kroman Score if you have 60 or more total score.
8. Superchain Contributor
This category rewards both governance and technical contributors of the Superchain.
- Governance Contributor: If you delegated OP tokens to the OP Governance voters from July 20, 2023, until September 30, 2024, you will receive 100 KRO, with a minimum cumulative point of 18,000 (delegated OP tokens * delegated days) and minimum delegation days of 7 days. Please note that if your delegated voter has never voted, then you are not eligible for the airdrop.
- Tech Contributor: Developers with 3 or more merged commits in eligible repositories will receive 100 KRO. Those with 100 or more commits will receive 1,000 KRO.
Eligible repositories include:

- op-geth(https://github.com/ethereum-optimism/op-geth)
- monitorism(https://github.com/ethereum-optimism/monitorism)
- minigeth(https://github.com/ethereum-optimism/minigeth)

- superchain-relayer(https://github.com/ethereum-optimism/superchain-relayer)
9. Kroma Transaction Generator
Last but not least, we recognize the users who have generated transactions on Kroma. To qualify, users must have spent 10 million or more gas and interacted with at least 10 different addresses. The airdrop amount is calculated based on the gas usage, with different rates for various gas usage tiers.
- Gas usage of 0 ~ 10M gas: gas_used * 0.00000021 / 0.4
- Gas usage of 10M ~ 100M gas: (gas_used — 10M) * 0.00000021 / 0.4 / 2
- Gas usage of 100M ~ 1G gas: (gas_used — 100M) * 0.00000021 / 0.4 / 4
- Gas usage of 1G ~ 10G gas: (gas_used — 1G) * 0.00000021 / 0.4 / 8
- Gas usage of 10G ~ 100G gas: (gas_used — 10G) * 0.00000021 / 0.4 / 16
- Gas usage of 100G ~ 1B gas: (gas_used — 100G) * 0.00000021 / 0.4 / 32
- And continues…
Please note that some EOAs that are owned by dApps are filtered.
10. Kroma Validators
The Kroma team deeply appreciates the efforts of our mainnet validators who have contributed to securing the network. As we transition to the Kroma Validator V2 system, validators will need to stake KRO tokens in order to be eligible to submit outputs.
To support this transition and ensure validators can seamlessly participate in the new system, validators who submitted finalized outputs on the Kroma mainnet will be rewarded with 400 KRO tokens per finalized output submission.
However, we are aware that some operators attempted to take advantage of the system by dividing the deposit bond into smaller amounts (e.g., 0.2 ETH each) and running multiple validators with the minimum required assets. To mitigate the impact of this Sybil attack, within groups of connected validators, the validator with the highest number of submitted outputs will receive the full 400 KRO per output, while the other validators in the group will receive 100 KRO per output.
Airdrop will be distributed to the Kroma mainnet validators on the Ethereum network at the time of the TGE (Token Generation Event).
We also recognize the contributions of our testnet participants who operated testnet validators. Testnet validators are eligible if they have submitted at least five finalized outputs and operated for a minimum of ten days. Qualified testnet validators receive a base reward of 400 KRO, and earn 2 KRO per output beyond the initial submission. Additionally, a time-based reward of 5 KRO per day is calculated from the difference between the last and first output submission dates, rounded up to the nearest day. Please note that validators are clustered based on Sepolia transaction histories to mitigate sybil activities, ensuring that only one validator within each cluster qualifies for the full 400 KRO base reward, while others in the same cluster receive a reduced base reward of 100 KRO.
This airdrop will be distributed on the Kroma mainnet, with no manual claims required.
Conclusion
This first airdrop reflects our gratitude to the Kroma community and contributors across a broad spectrum of activities. The total airdrop allocation of 49,150,177.42 KRO represents around 5% of the total KRO supply, with each category playing a crucial role in our ecosystem’s development. You can check your eligibility for the Initial Airdrop and claim your tokens at https://kcu.kroma.network/?dialog=airdrop.
Even though we have put our best effort to thoroughly review and reward those who have contributed to Kroma and the Kroma ecosystem, there is a chance we have unintentionally missed some of our community members. However, this is only the beginning; stay tuned for Airdrop Season 2, which will introduce new opportunities for participation and reward! Keep supporting Kroma as we continue to scale Ethereum and push the boundaries of blockchain technology.
We appreciate your continued support, and look forward to building a stronger Kroma ecosystem together!
