After returning from EthCC in Brussels, we were deeply impressed by the enthusiasm of the Superchain community and the Optimism Team! Building on this momentum, we attended EDCON in Japan, one of the largest Ethereum community conferences.
Additionally, we initiated the first-ever Superchain gathering in Asia in collaboration with Mint Blockchain and Akindo in Tokyo.
So, let’s dive into what happened in Tokyo!🙌
Asia’s Superchain Pioneers in Tokyo🟢
To promote the Superchain across Asia, Kroma held an event at EDCON Tokyo. Recognizing the opportunity to engage with Superchain projects and enthusiasts, we hosted Asia’s Superchain Pioneers in Tokyo on July 28th, ahead of the main event at Yoyogi National Gymnasium.
The First Superchain Gathering in Asia 🟢v🟢
We collaborated with Mint Blockchain, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution built on the Superchain, and Akindo, the largest builder community in Japan.
This side event was designed to provide community members with deeper insights into the Superchain and to strengthen our bonds with projects built on it. With over 240 registrations through Luma, the event was a great success, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.🙂
We even designed special Kroma, Mint and Optimism stickers for this event!

How Kroma Will Contribute to the Superchain by Harry
After the keynote speeches, Harry, our Blockchain Engineer, took the stage to discuss Kroma’s contributions to the Superchain. He highlighted Kroma’s pioneering role as the first OP stack rollup with active ZK fault proof and its efforts to gamify the web3 experience.
Harry emphasized the advantages of native account abstraction (AA), including reduced gas fees and an enhanced builder experience, which significantly benefit the Superchain ecosystem.
He also demonstrates how ZK fault proof of Kroma can enhance the whole Superchain ecosystem, by further integrating it with Optimism multi-proof scheme. The role of Tachyon, a modular ZK backend library, was also introduced in the presentation, which boosts protocol efficiency and decentralization, further strengthening the Superchain’s robustness.
