DogeChain wallet has announced plans to cease operations on June 1, 2024. The website has been serving users for over a decade, and started its operations in 2013. The platform has urged users to withdraw their Dogecoin (DOGE) tokens from their platform, to other wallets.
Dogechain.info advises users to secure their private keys before the deadline for shutdown.

Wallet provider service DogeChain revealed its decision to discontinue its wallet service, in an email sent to all registered users. The project’s website has a notice for users, asking them to remove their DOGE tokens and move them to other wallet services before Dogechain ceases operations on June 1.

The wallet service has been key to the meme coin’s ecosystem, and powered the storage, and transfer of DOGE for over a decade. The service is yet to disclose a reason for its shutdown.
Dogecoin proponent behind the X handle @mishaboar advised market participants to move their DOGE tokens out of http://dogechain.info prior to June 1. The analyst advised users to keep a copy of the wallet’s private keys, in case the address is in use somewhere. A copy of private keys will allow traders to recover funds that they may have inadvertently sent or received in this wallet, in the future.

DOGE holders used the wallet for access to NFTs, blockchain-based games and decentralized applications (dApps) across the ecosystem. Since the interface will no longer be accessible, post the shutdown, users need to retail control to their wallet addresses while moving out their DOGE holdings.
Dogecoin hit a key milestone, surpassing two million transactions in a single day in March 2024. Since then the number of daily transactions declined, it is making a recovery, as of Friday, May 3.

The recent recovery in DOGE daily transactions is likely the effect of meme season and capital rotation into relatively more speculative assets like Dogecoin. DOGE price was $0.1397 on Friday and the Shiba-Inu-themed meme coin added nearly 6% to its value on the day.
