Epocum: the future of website’s digital remuneration

Epocum is firstly a digital economy based on websites connectivity and secondly a platform, built uppon Ethereum’s blockchain and smart contract driven, where web-owners can make agreements with other users and influencers to advertise his web service.

Anyone already knows that advertising on the internet is kind of broken: banners, pop-ups and malwares are almost everywhere and big companies are becoming more and more pervasive, obnoxius and intrusive in order to guarantee a more targeted advertising for its customers.

Besides all this we see a growing lowering of remuneration for those who generate (developer) and maintain (web-owner) web services and this only accelerates the process of decay of the current system.

So yes we have some problems here, it is undeniable, but how can Epocum solve those problem? Epocum offers a new economic system, not controlled by a third party company through which web services could self-finance themselves and use the platform as a service in order to increment their web traffic. Epocum elevates the web service to a real entity having connectivity as a reference economic base. There is a direct proportionality between the connectivity of a web service and its economic value, where if connectivity increases, its economic value also increases.

With Epocum a web service could create its own economy, earn $EPM tokens (the currency generated by the platform which is the economic and digital representation of connectivity itself) and use those to evolve and maintain the web service, so could make revenue without having to put out ads.

This is big news because now web-owners can really use this revenue to improve their service, pay the staff and journalist, webmaster and developers in order to increase the value of their platform. They don’t need to give the controll or sell themself to other companies for marketing affliations, they can have freedom of speech and remuneration. They can spend less for the advertising and more for the creation of content.

For example web services such as newspaper could use Epocum and earn $EPM based on their connectivity: if the connectivity is low (around 100 conn/month) they could make revenue in a year that is enough to pay hosting and domain, if instead the connectivity is higher than maybe they could earn enough to pay the webmaster, editors, writers etc. The same way Epocum can be used by e-commerces, blogs, startups, provider of streaming and downloadable content and so on.Even web developers or webmaster can take profit from Epocum, they could take care or develop websites in exchange of the property of the website’s connectivity.

I think Epocum it’s the future for a few reasons:

• Today’s situation is not good, in particular for small/medium or newborn web services that are left out of the game; some change is needed.
• The technology is going in that direction: a lot of startups in the last years are trying to solve this problem.
• Day after day our society and businesses are going into a digital world: everything and everyone is conencted, all happens on the internet , and finaly with cryptocurrencies internet has its own money, so it’s not insane to think that with all those problems all businesses on the internet will switch into a digital finance too.
• How we saw developers and webmaster, but also other type of jobs that are part of this field, are paid always less. Meantime cryptocurrencies are becoming more and more accepted as a form of payment in common life and such digital works will follow digital money.

Maybe more than the future a better way to name it’s a new begining.
