Due to its high throughput, the TRON blockchain has fostered a very welcoming environment for developers to deploy their dApps. As the ecosystem grows, so does the field for NFT projects deployed on TRON, or whose NFT offerings can be minted on the TRON blockchain. Here, we go through the top 5 projects we’re watching on TRON, giving you a brief overview of each.
APENFT
APENFT, a metaverse, GameFi, and NFT platform has blasted onto the world stage with its mission to connect the retail investor to the high-quality investing opportunities found in fine art. APENFT is a multichain platform operating on the TRON, BSC, and Ethereum blockchains. Being backed by TRON’s NFT protocols as well as being multichain means that users can benefit from flexibility and the opportunity to mint NFTs cheaply and more quickly. APENFT utilizes the BitTorrent File System, a decentralized file system, to ensure the security of its NFT data.
By offering users a place where fine art and NFT technology come together, this project brings together two very passionate and (for now) very different crowds under one roof. The advantage? More investment opportunities for investors and more ways to monetize for artists and the institutions that represent them. The art world is well represented on APENFT, with modern artists such as Beeple being listed alongside Pablo Picasso.
APENFT’s governance token is NFT which you can trade on Poloniex.
Kraftly
Kraftly is another marketplace for crypto collectibles and NFTs. Users can mint, trade and collect their favorite NFTs on Kraftly. Kraftly currently operates only on the TRON network and offers collectables from projects such as TRON Meebits, Tpunks, and TronBull.
One unique feature is that the platform offers sellers a “Blind Mintable” option which means that buyers mint an NFT collection upon purchase and each NFT is randomly distributed amongst buyers using Kraftly’s fair-distribution algorithm.
Tpunks
An incumbent on the TRON blockchain, Tpunks is one of the first NFT projects to issue NFTs on TRON. It takes the concept of the famous NFT project cryptopunks, and gives a TRON-based counterpart.
The project has proven to be rather popular, as it sold out its collection of the 10,000 Tpunks it had minted quite quickly. Like Cryptopunks, each Tpunk NFT has its own unique attributes. What’s more, some punks have themes unique to TRON, like aliens and even “JustinSun” Tpunks. They of course operate on TRON’s TRC-721 token standard for NFTs.
Like other marketplaces, the Tpunks marketplace allows users to bid on and buy Tpunks NFTs, as well as sell their own.
TRON Ninjas
While Tpunks introduced NFTs to TRON, TRON Ninjas is introducing GameFi. According to the project’s website, TRON Ninja NFTs can be used as one’s character to play on the platform’s arcade. Users can also upgrade their NFTs with in-game tokens. The team behind TRON Ninjas is passionate about retro-style arcade games, so the platform has plans to be full of games that give users a very nostalgic experience… with a very modern twist.
This project has also instituted a play-to-earn model where players can earn TNT, the project’s utility token. To get started, all one needs to do is mint a ninja on the platform while their TRONLink wallet is connected.
The project’s arcade currently has 4 retro-style games where players can play to earn TNT. On the project’s roadmap is the ability to stake one’s ninja for TNT. Users can also stake TNT tokens for rewards.
Devikins
The last project we are covering is another GameFi project that integrates NFTs called Devikins. Developed by MoonLabs, Devikins is based around an RPG game of the same name, where players’ avatars are represented by NFT characters. Each Devikin is unique with different attributes such as rarity, personality, and affinity. These attributes affect how your Devikin will grow and progress in the game.
The game utilizes a semi-infinite creation algorithm, which means no two Devikins are exactly alike. In terms of gameplay, the project’s roadmap includes a forthcoming combat system and storylines so that players can delve into the world of Devikins.
The game operates on the TRON blockchain, and has entered open beta as of February 2022. DVK, or Devicoin, is Devikins’ utility token.
The top 5 NFT projects to watch on TRON was originally published in The Poloniex blog on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
