As part of our Developer Grant Program, we contributed $150,000 to Brink and Gloria Zhao to support her open source work. Learn more about her work and views on what’s next for Bitcoin in our Okcoin Live with her, hosted by our COO Jason Lau at the Bitcoin Conference last week.
Our commitment to Bitcoin open source development
Following our Developer Grant Program contributions last year, we’re doubling down this year with a $150,000 donation to support the work of Gloria Zhao, full time Bitcoin Core Developer and Brink Fellow. This takes our commitment to Bitcoin open source development well above $1M – and there’s more to come.
Our research shows that most people are not aware that Bitcoin is still under development and that full-time efforts are needed to eliminate bugs and vulnerabilities as well as to improve the network’s efficiency and capabilities. So we’ve partnered with Brink and OpenSats to write an ebook about how Bitcoin development works and how it’s funded.
Meet Gloria Zhao
We sat down with Gloria Zhao at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami to discuss her work and what she will be focusing on this year. We talked about attacks against Lightning, Bitcoin security, maximalism, the NFT hype, and more.
