Ajay Badita
Ajay joins the IOTA Foundation as a Research Scientist in the Research team. In this role, he will focus on the Congestion Control Algorithm used in the Coordicide project. He lives in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, India. Ajay has recently obtained his PhD in Electrical Communication Engineering at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. His research interests include design and analysis of Distributed Systems using Applied Probability and Queueing Theory and he contributed to these research topics with few publications in scientific leading venues.
IOTA's technology looks promising and has many advantages over the traditional blockchain since it is aimed to build for the IoT, also it is free, secure, and decentralized. I am excited to be part of this talented research team and I promise to put my sincere effort in contributing to IF and as well as to improve myself to build the technology towards a better society.
Alexander (Sasha) Chupick
Alexander, or Sasha for short, joins the Communications Team as a Social Media Manager. In this role, he will improve our online presence, increase IOTA's awareness and improve marketing efforts through analytics. Sasha recently moved to Berlin from Paris, where he worked in the Global Corporate Communications of Accor. Being originally from Montreal, Canada, his international experience in communications makes him fit right into the Foundation.
This past year was one of many changes, and joining the IOTA Foundation was one of them that made sense to me on an ethical level. The scope and scale of the projects all aim to create a better future in terms of sustainability, accountability and openness. These are all ideals I strive to achieve daily. Though not from a technical background, I am excited at the challenge of integrating a frontrunning organization in a new industry at the cusp of a technological revolution. I hope that my experience will successfully support the Foundation’s ambitions.
Amadeo Marchioni
Amadeo joins the IOTA Foundation as a Mobile App Developer in the Engineering team. In this role, he will focus on the implementation and the integration of the Firefly Mobile project. Amadeo lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has more than twenty years working in several fields of software development as with user interface design. He worked developing mobile applications mainly in the Ed-Tech industry.
I feel completely delighted for the opportunity to contribute and learn from the brilliant team and challenging projects I am part of. I am grateful for my role which lets me know in depth the implemented tech. This makes me understand that the IOTA Foundation will bring to the world what no one else could before.
Luke Thorne
Luke joins the IOTA Foundation as a Software Engineer (Golang) in the Smart Contracts team. In this role, he will focus on the Wasp project. Luke lives in Virginia, USA, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Software Engineering. He worked as a software and devops engineer, helping to develop enterprise solutions and tooling for software deployment and management. He joins the IOTA Foundation because he is interested in working in an open-source, community-oriented team with a mission to create big waves in the IoT and blockchain spaces, with plenty of opportunities to learn from the best and grow as part of the project.
I am excited to be part of a team that has potential to effect positive and lasting change in a ground-breaking way. The mission of providing a free, decentralized, digital world that enables the next generation of communication is incredibly crucial today. I’m grateful for the distinct privilege of being part of the beginning phases of an organization with so much potential.
Max Hase
Max joins the IOTA Foundation as a Senior Software Engineer (Golang) in the Protocol team. In this role, he will focus on the Hornet node implementation and the integration of smart contracts and the tokenization framework. Max lives in Berlin, Germany, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. With over 14 years of experience as a software and project engineer in electrical drive technology, he developed drive controllers as well as related configuration software and tooling in close cooperation with customers.
Since reading about IOTA for the first time in 2017, I was always fascinated by the DAG structure called the tangle. After joining an IOTA community meetup in Berlin, I started helping other community developers in different projects like the ledger nano integration and the community based node software “hercules”. By stress-testing the network I gained a deeper understanding of the limitations of the different node software implementations at that time, always thinking about solutions to improve IOTA. The result is known today as the Hornet node software, and I am really proud to be part of this team. Joining the IOTA foundation allows me to fully focus on improving the protocol and enables me to represent the needs of the community inside the IF. My goal is to contribute to creating a decentralized, trustless DLT for the people that creates new opportunities like decentralized autonomous organizations and decentralized finance.
Alexandre Dang
Alexandre joined the IOTA Foundation as a Research Engineer in the Applied Research team. He will use his experience in formal methods to help out in different projects such as the development of smart contracts or securing the Stronghold software. Alexandre currently lives in Madrid but previously did a PhD and a year of assistant professor in Rennes, France. After a few years in academia he decided to join the IOTA Foundation to pursue new challenges in a stimulating environment.
Distributed Ledgers Technologies are going to change how the world operates and I wanted to contribute with my grain of sand towards that dream. While researching about the different DLTs, I came across IOTA and loved the technological choices they made. Then I also learned about the vision and how the Foundation operates: open source, community oriented, a non-profit organization... All of these appealed to me and now here I am in the IOTA Foundation.
We are very happy to officially announce that Ajay Badita, Alexander (Sasha) Chupick, Amadeo Marchioni, Max Hase, Alexandre Dang have joined the IOTA Foundation! Give them all a very warm welcome!
