Brave Wallet beta release is now available on Android and soon will become available on iOS. It will make it possible for mobile users to test crypto access according to the wallet’s website. The Brave Wallet, which supports the Basic Attention Token (BAT/USD), was launched last month for Brave’s desktop browser and is now available in beta release for Brave mobile apps.
A wide variety of functions for early adopters
Early users and testers can use it to manage, store, grow, and exchange their crypto portfolio from a crypto wallet built into the Brave mobile browser. Brave is widely regarded as the browser of the Web 3.0 future. Users will also be able to connect with Web3 DApps through an upcoming release, which will feature EVM compatible network support.
Reduced security risk
Being browser-native, the Brave Wallet reduces security risks and reliance on memory and extra CPU. It lets users transact with all kinds of crypto assets with superior performance and safety.
Now that the Brave Wallet has been released for mobile users, they can:
- Find the best price match against a list of providers
- See live and historical market graphs
- Buy with fiat via Wyre
- Send and receive assets
- Import their wallet from MetaMask or other wallets
- Add and manage EVM compatible networks
- Manage their portfolio with NFT and multichain support
- Send and receive NFTs
Brian Bondy, CTO and co-founder of Brave, commented:
Brave recently passed 46 million monthly active users, and we’re excited to offer all of our users, whether on desktop or mobile, a wallet built directly into the browser, ideal for today’s crypto users. Now Brave users can benefit from a high-performance and highly secure crypto wallet across all their devices, giving them a seamless crypto experience.
Brave Wallet is free
To use the wallet, all you need to do is download the Brave browser on your mobile devices or upgrade your Brave mobile app to the current (1.33) version on Android. This will be possible on iOS in the next few days. Â
Different from Brave Rewards
Brave points out that the wallet isn’t the same as the feature that rewards Brave users with BAT for watching privacy-protecting ads. The only connection is that users can store any redeemed BAT from Brave Rewards in the Brave Wallet after undergoing the custodial process.
